ARCHITECTURE

Lohas Park, Hong Kong

This project is one of the largest residential developments ever to be created in Hong Kong. Situated on top of the Mass Transit Railway’s Tseung Kwan O Depot and Tseung Kwan O South station, the development includes 50 residential towers, a 45,000 sq. m. shopping centre, a public transport interchange, five schools and other government facilities such as kindergartens, a day nursery, elderly centres and children and youth services centres.

Built on 34.8 hectares of reclaimed land, the development was conceived as a seaside community that will accommodate more than 20,000 families in a landscaped garden setting. Environmental friendliness and quality of life were emphasized in the master plan, which envisaged the segregation of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, large amounts of open space, natural air flow and plenty of sunlight.
