ARCHITECTURE

Eastern Advanced Medical Centre, Hong Kong

Eastern Advanced Medical Centreis a redevelopment of an existing industrial building into an 18-storey clinic complex, comprising medical treatment facilities, clinical laboratories and ancillary supporting facilities. The schedule for accommodations is mainly derived from clinic operational need. The site is linear and aligned in an east-west direction with major frontage to the north and south, naturally deriving the rectilinear built form to facilitate spatial planning for clinical functions. To cope with delicate medical requirements, the overall spatial planning of the clinic complex was carefully designed, keeping treatment logistics for patients uppermost in mind.
