ARCHITECTURE

West Kowloon Cultural District, Conceptual Plan, Hong Kong

With the extension of West Kowloon, the HKSAR government has undertaken one of the most ambitious and significant urban development projects in the Asia Pacific region. Working with a challenging 40 hectare site on a new peninsula of land, the competition-winning design promotes vibrancy and diversity in this zero-carbon district. The commercial and residential areas, located in close proximity to the new MTR for greater access, are open to the sea breeze and designed on a humane scale with maximum permeability.
