RLP Chairman, Dr. Ronald Lu together with Director Jim Ho, Associate Zhuang Wen Liang and Senior Architect Ming Kong visited the RLP-designed UIC Zhuhai New Campus on 17 May, with the Board of Directors and Principal of Hong Kong Baptist University. They were so happy to see the students enjoying their new environment! We also look forward to the opening of Phase 2 academic buildings this autumn!
Project ACT (Architecture.Community.Teenagers) will be officially launched in November 2015. Co-organized by Ronald Lu & Partners and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, Project ACT has been specially designed by professional RLP architects for the benefit of the 140 participating secondary students. The project will involve engaging activities like an ‘Archi-Tour’ of remarkable examples of Hong Kong architecture and a model-making workshop. These activities will enhance students’ understanding of the mission and responsibilities borne by architects when they take on projects, and help instill the importance of the concept of sustainable development in our next generation’s minds while they are still young. The ultimate aim of the project is very much long term: when these teenagers grow up, we hope they will understand and care about the environment and take the initiative to build a better, more sustainable community.
